The work of the Academy relies on the contributions of its members. Volunteer leaders are the mainstay of any professional organization and the commitment of our members shows through the growth of the Academy and the public relying on the knowledge and expertise of dietitians as the food and nutrition professionals.

But the benefits of volunteering aren't limited to the profession and organization. Members who volunteer benefit as well — providing opportunities to give back to the community and serve in functions outside of our daily roles.

Opportunities are available to get involved at all levels of the organization — leadership positions, advocating for the profession or getting involved with your affiliate. The Academy provides the opportunity to give back to the community through the work of the Foundation and the Kids Eat Right Campaign. Or, become a spokesperson and be the resource for local media channels when writers need a food and nutrition professional.

Host a dietetic student during FNCE, become a preceptor or review Academy Position Papers — volunteer positions are open and varied, and the Academy needs volunteers like you to continue the great work of the organization.
